I was fishing on the beach just last week, not shark fishing though. Pork loin seems like a poor choice of bait though.
When I was out there one day, a fella and his family come out and set up to my right. They slowly proceed to wander over right in front of where I am fishing. So I start casting a little further left, It is annoying but it is a public beach and I don't feel like trying to unhook a self absorbed arse who isn't paying attention to where he is.
The most annoying aspect, however, was the fact that this is not a very busy beach and there was literally about 1/4 mile of beach to their left that was unoccupied.
Most of the time, the guys who really like to surf fish aren't the ones causing issues. There are always assholes in every group though. And it is considered poor form amongst the surf fishing crowd to target sharks while there are swimmers in the area. Also, dusk is probably as good a time as any to target sharks and a rally bad time to be in the water whether people are fishing or not.

i tried it once, my cousin brought it, i missed like 20 bites until i came down, it was frustrating how slow i was reacting. it was cork down ok i need to pull, and cork already back up by the time i pulled
i know he meant well, but we werent very good at catching them that day
its not as bad if you arent using a cork because they often hook themselves

Go walk out on the pier at Gulf Shores, Pensacola, Navarre, etc. and look at the water. You won’t believe the number of sharks relatively close to the people swimming. They have no clue
