My point is only that being white and upper middle class means that you are likely not going to get caught up in the stories like tonight or the daily OT thread about statues.
A few random articles aren't changing that opinion.
Your point seems to be that no one is safe. I just don't see how you get to that conclusion when there are plenty of facts against it.
I can't defend things like the on street muggings. But, that talking about stubbed toes vs catching your arm in a bandsaw.

You literally said that being white keeps you safe. I posted just the first page on google of articles of white people (also upper class, which was another argument of yours) not being safe. I agree with what you are saying in the above quote but I'm not sure how you think it means the same as

Being white and middle class means you are protected in this city a lot more. More/better cops. Private details. Better action if and when anything ever happens.
And because while being in that demographic doesn't pigeonhole you to not being a knucklehead hanging around with other knuckleheads it makes the chances severely less.

I read today that Nola/Metairie is a top 5 cities across the country for millennials. I had no idea lakeside mall and PF Changs hired so many college grads.

Getting a gun stuck in my face while getting in my car while living in Bayou St John must have been an anomaly right? Waiting 8 hours to get police to come write a report for my vehicle being on cinderblocks in a quiet area of broadmoor must have also been a benefit of being white. I agree, if only I would have stayed out of those sticky situations.

Or you could be dirt poor and black in Scottsdale and if you walked down a dark alley at night the worst that would happen to you is someone would stop and offer you a ride. It isn't because the land or buildings here are magically better, or that the police are somehow amazing, it is because of our demographics.
There is not even ONE city in the US that is mostly black that is not a total shithole, I would love for you to try to name one. If you, or anyone, feels the need to explain it away based on how the US has treated black people please point out one city in THE ENTIRE WORLD that is mostly black but is not a shithole. We all know there are amazing black people but when large numbers of them populate an area or school it becomes a shithole and that it is an absolute fact that cannot be disputed. You can't call me a racist unless you can prove I am wrong, until them I am a realist and people who lie to themselves about it put themselves and their family in their danger.

Among the many armed robberies, a few months ago two 12-year-olds were arrested for multiple armed robberies . We have a problem. I love the Nola crime threads: it's always the same lines from the Nola defenders, bad area, shouldn't be out, rarely happens to whites, if it does happen to you then just unlucky, throw out a 94 or 96 stat. Then point out some development that we know will be crap in less than 10 years.

Look on the Fox 8 website, story on it about a young former military couple held up at gunpoint uptown last Friday evening. They crooks came back later and stole their car. At least the perps were caught yesterday but it validates the point that there is no safe place in that cesspool.
