It's almost half way through the year and it's about even. Let the rest of the year play out and then we'll see how much it increases. No one knows what it's gonna be yet. So like I said, it's not even close to 70% more than last year, which is what you were trying to say
Have stats for agg assaults as well? What about burglaries and robberies?
Just because their aim is bad, doesn't mean violence hasn't increased. New tourism pitch? " You may be a victim of violent crime but you'll probably live. Laissez les bons temps rouler"
As someone that made multiple weekend trips a year taking my wife down there for a getaway or taking the kids I can tell you. Never again!
That arse clown of a Mayor makes me wanna take my money else ware. The crime makes me wanna keep myself and family away out of self preservation

It's fricking mind blowing how hard you will argue that white or upper class people are never victims. So this doesn't constitute crime being out of hand? The latest shooting injured a women and child. We are posting in a thread about 6 people being shot in one incident.
I've lived in cities such as NO, Houston, and Baton Rouge, every city has serious crime issues. I don't know why it's so hard for you to admit this about your precious New Orleans.
And speak when spoken to next time. Sleep good bro

Que the alarmist internet headline saying we have more murders this year than chicago.
I've never see men turn into women so quick. They read headlines and start freaking out that the world's over

Almost like these crimes weren't random
You have a basic misunderstanding of macro statistics and actual security threats.

And just in case you forgot, here's that minor blurb about the tulane students being kidnapped, raped, and shot. Good thing it's never upper class victims right?
quote:
The rape charges are derived from an incident New Orleans police say occurred less than 24 hours after Cain tried to murder Gold when the student intervened in the attempted kidnapping of a woman in the Lower Garden District on Nov. 20. The new charges are tied to accusations that Cain abducted a man and woman who were sitting in a parked car in Treme, forcing them to drive to the parking lot of an abandoned school in the Desire area, then robbing and raping both at gunpoint .

In 2012 I lived in that neighborhood for a few months.
Certainly wouldn't consider it a great area of town but this is definitely not in the ghetto by any stretch.

Again, where are we saying the world is over? It's not just one headline, it's every fricking week in New Orleans. It has a huge cloud of negativity surrounding it the last couple years and it hasn't improved and will not under the current conditions and circumstances. World isn't over, but many peoples days in New Orleans are.
ETA: "nobody cares" lmfao this is exactly why the city sucks dick

And one more, if you just google "tulane + robbery" you get endless articles. Who knows you could find browsing the uptown messenger.
This is the fourth crime committed against Tulane students around campus in the past week including two burglaries and now two armed robberies.

Go look up the word deteriorate, because you obviously have no idea what it means

It's amazing how you keep putting words into my mouth.
The reason people aren't leaving the city is because the crime isn't happening to them or their people.
If you read this board you would swear that every block hears gunshots every night and walking outside is a sure fire way to get robbed. It's just not the truth.
Does the city have a crime problem? No fricking doubt. I have never disputed it in the least.
You chose to start a crusade against something that is factually true. Being white and upper class in this city usually means you won't be caught in a gun battle in central city or new orleans east.
Does it mean you won't get robbed in Lakeview or assaulted on State Street? No. It just means statistically you are safe from 95% of the shite that gets posted on this board followed with "I don't see how people live there" and "I'm fricking done with it"

Think I'm the only one?
Think your blind defense of that shite hole on a declining message board is gonna save it?
Think again. The entire state, gulf coast, etc is watching and see the headlines / internet links. Keep sticking your head in the sand.
Convenient that you quoted that piece of my original post. Keep attacking opinions and ignoring the facts

I'm 1996 millions of people weren't getting updates on their smarts phones saying "another student shot in historic New Orleans spot"
