Don't touch the patina on the dial. You have 2 options. Local or Bien Switzerland which will be expensive. Where are you located? There is a guy in Zachary named Steve Andrews and he was an omega repair guy for a long time. He would be my first visit.

Watchmakers international is in dfw, so that's perfect. Thanks!
If you just want it fixed any of these people others on here have recommended are probably capable of doing it. If you truly want it restored and done right any three of the guys I listed are internationally known as being the best.

Now I mail those vintage watches to an out of state restoration specialist who I've learned to trust, whose rates are published on his website, and who asks for your OK before there are any surprises.
If it means something to you then send it to Omega and have them service it.

I second this. Take it to Steve Andrews in Zachary. Throughout the 70’s he worked for Omega in Switzerland. He is kind of and old hippy but very knowledgeable. He restored a mid 60’s seamaster for me a couple of years ago. It came out beautiful.
I had the movement serviced completely, the crystal replaced, new stem and new band. Ran about $350.

It has a hand-wind movement, but I don't know which one.
Cal 861 unless it was actually a 1960’s watch in which case it would be a Cal 321

That's what I was thinking. My dad still has the paperwork, but nothing on it made sense. It said. Move. No. 6179. Purchase date was 1/4/1971

Side question...where do y'all get your omegas serviced after 3-4 years?

I'm telling him, Steve Andrews is an omega genius and very affordable. He likes to talk though. And don't tell him Breitling is a good watch or he losses his shite

I follow the rule of when it stops or stops keeping time, then it needs servicing. Otherwise roll with it. Servicing is $1000 and most of the time they just freshen it up with a polish and oil.

I'm in the Dallas area now, so Zachary would be a stretch.

Contact these guys. They can help you and at least give an estimate so you will know. They will pretty much do what you ask them to do.

Broke,
What’s a good website to shop antique Omega’s? This thread is making me want one of these.

EBay for vintage. Watchuseek or Timezone may have some also. Vintage is very tricky. Movements could have been swapped and incorrect. You really need to know watches to dip your toes in this water. Or ask an expert

This is a good site for vintage and newer models Omega
HQ Milton is also an excellent site to find specific year watches that has a good search function.
