You are going to need someone to go over the movement and make sure it is ok. I would bet both pushers will need replaced, since on is missing. Get a new crystal it should be plastic? So that should not be pricey. The band looks like it has a shite ton of slack just replace with a nice leather band probably another 80- 100 there. I would think it could be fixed up for about $500- 800 depending on where you take it. Totally worth it IMO. Sentimental value aside, fixed up it would probably be worth about 2k maybe more.
Looks like you're spot on. I've contacted a couple of people. One guy quoted me $400 plus parts the other $550 plus parts. Looks like similar models are going for $2500 - $3000. It's appears to be a Seamaster 145.018 with the 861 movement.

PYA, but get it done. That piece is going to be bad assed once restored.
I’m wearing a Speedmaster Date, and had to get a new clasp last month. It was $110, and each link was $30, plus $25 to have it put on.
I looked at an old moon watch with a nice petina like yours, it was awesome. It’s the next watch I get. This Date was a gift, so I can’t complain. I do have to get it serviced and all I’ve found locally was $500. May send it to one of the guys in the links found earlier in this thread since they’re certified.

Nice work. My dad had an omega that was given to him by his brother in law (my uncle) who bright it back from the service in Germany. Probably a graduation present. He wore it till it quit, supposedly from moisture from sweat working in the yard over the years.
We haven't been able to locate it since he died. Would really like to have it reworked.

looks good, how was it to restore ?
Posted on 7/28/18 at 11:27 am to nobigdeal69
So does it run extremely fast before or after the restore?
Posted on 7/28/18 at 11:28 am to Tiger Roux
Expensive. I heard about a guy on the omega forums, and sent the watch to him.

It ran fast before. The guy serviced the movement and says it's fine now.

Do NOT restore it.
Have mvmnt serviced and crystal buffed only.
Do NOT have the case polished.
Do NOT let anyone touch the original dial, even with mild damage.
Collectors want them 100% original...but don't take my word for it:

Whoops. I'm late. Oh well.

I think you're late. See op. Watch is fabulous now

The crystal was too damaged, so he replaced it. He did not polish the case nor touch the dial. Repaired everything else with genuine omega parts.

Ehhhh probably not but it doesn't matter.
Unless he has an account at Otto Frei

I hope he did. It took forever to get the parts in. He said that Omega closed for 3 weeks for inventory, so that delayed the arrival. Each one of those pushers was $100, so I hope they are genuine.

That looks great, congrats on your beautiful watch.

Broke, where can I find a bracelet? I bought a couple alligator bands, but I want an omega bracelet. There are different numbers for end links and bracelets, and it's very confusing.

Watch arrives on Monday. I'll update with pic when it comes in.
