According to LSP guy on Facebook, he was shot twice when he walked up to car window- those shots knocked him down. She then got out of the car and shot him 3 more times-- his arm was broken by two of the shots, so he was unable to reach his gun.

So it sounds like the first two shots were the ones to his arm and the last three were to his upper shoulder, jaw, and left temple.

Death by firing squad should be brought back for pos like her.

Why because I think titles are earned? Being a "senior" agent at 26 with 2.5 years of experience doesn't make sense.

Who the hell is he senior to? Is there that much turn-over?

Sorry to hurt your little snow flake feelings.

It looks like a Senior Agent is one who has 2 years experience, which Agent Wheeler had earned.

It is the third from the bottom ranking above Cadets and regular Agents. I guess they designate them as "Senior" because after that they may be promoted to more military-style titles: Sergent, Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Lt. Colonel, and Colonel.

quote:

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries Enforcement Division rank structure is as listed:

Rank Insignia

Colonel
One individual holds the position as chief of the Enforcement Division and has the rank of Colonel. The Colonel wears one silver colored eagle on each epaulet.

Lieutenant Colonel
There are two officers with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Lieutenant Colonels wear a silver colored oak leaf on each epaulet.

Major
Majors are responsible for a command within the Enforcement Division. Majors wear one gold colored oak leaf on each epaulet.

Captain
The specific responsibilities of a Captain vary depending upon where they are assigned within the Agency. For example, a Captain may be a Region Commander, or hold some other responsibility if assigned to headquarters. Captains wear two gold colored bars on each epaulet.

Lieutenant
The responsibilities of a lieutenant vary within the department. At the Region level, a lieutenant is typically the commander of a district. Other Lieutenants at headquarters may command a unit. Lieutenants wear gold colored metal bars on each epaulet.

Sergeant
At the Region level, Sergeants are assigned to oversee a parish. At headquarters and in some specialized units they perform other functions. Sergeants wear a metal pin consisting of three gold colored inverted chevrons on each epaulet.

Senior Agent
Agents who have served two (2) years of satisfactory or exceptional service are promoted to the rank of Senior Agent. Senior Agents do not wear rank insignia.

Agent
This rank is attained by Cadets upon successful completion of the training academy. Agents do not wear rank insignia.

Conservation Officer
This rank was discontinued in 1999. It was created in 1997 for Wildlife Specialists who had transferred to the Enforcement Division from other divisions of the agency. Conservation Officers wore a tab on each sleeve denoting their status.

Cadet
A Cadet is a raw recruit, and is the rank held by all personnel while assigned as a student at the training academy. Cadets do not wear rank insignia.

From Wikipedia LINK, so take that FWIW.

y other off topic is wth is he a senior agent at his age and experience level. LDWF giving out participation trophies to millenials now?

It's just the rank structure with LDWF. You go from a cadet in the academy to an agent then at 2 years you make senior agent, which is the last gauranteed rank progression/raise. Only other promotion from there is to Sgt.

Thanks for the link. I guess it is akin to a Sr. airman in the AF. The senior really doesn't carry much weight.

Wheeler is making amazing progress in the hospital. His father's FB post from a couple of hours ago:

quote:

Just left the room. He is very tired. He has had a busy day. He has been moved from a bed to a chair. Has been talking all day. Started some rehab with moving arms and legs. He sat on side of the bed for about 5 minutes. They actually had him stand for a short period of time. He is exceeding their expectations. He is doing many things he shouldn't be doing for another 2 weeks. They ask if he wanted more pain medicine and he said no. I knew my son was tough, but what can I say. Keep the prayers coming.

Quick question. Under the new law wouldn't this be classified as a hate crime? Does LDWF fall under this.

Do you need a safe space? My original response was to someone else with an aside.

I am not debating this individuals title at all. His injuries are horrible and I hope the perpetrator gets what he has coming.

Apparently you and he must have been close for you to be so triggered.

No, your post was just off-base and ignorant. Don't try to sugar coat it now.
