If he just flat out left her, he would have had to leave her somewhere so far out that she wouldn’t make it to a town or civilization and he would have had to take her phone and dispose of it somehow.
She would have made it to someone with a phone by now if he didn’t kill her.

Trying to give himself time to get back home and get lawyered up and it bought him 10 days.
It's damn near a 40+ hour drive to Tampa from where he was from.....wonder if he drove the whole way while high on meth

Not legally. Morally.
I think from a purely pure/objective stance, it would be immoral to leave her.
However, if I thought she was Gone Girl'ing me, it would be totally rational (and likely moral) to engage in self-preservation.

Rationality =/= morality.
IF she walked away, there is no downside to giving details to your lawyer at the minimum.
His actions scream WAY more than self preservation, he's made himself a suspect.
His actions are antithetical to self preservation if she is just missing. He has pushed all suspicion on himself.

I could see her gone-girling him, but why does he have her van at home?
That’s the weirdest part of the whole thing imo. It looks so bad that he has HER van as his parents house for 10 days and doesn’t say a word.

As immoral as people are these days, that’s pretty fricked up to just leave someone and not say shite. A lot of people that murder loved ones go to the authorities and at least make up a story. That’s what’s so weird about this is that he hasn’t said shite and she could have been completely eaten by wildlife by now.
I would assume he told his parents and they told him to STFU , come home, and we'll get a lawyer.

The guy also flew home for 5 days in August to move some of their things out of storage into his Dad's house to save money. Seems like hiring movers would be more efficient than driving from Moab to SLC then flying back and forth to Florida and getting back to the van somehow.

If he did kill her, and there was no way to make it look like much of anything else, then he handled this in a pretty smart way.

Or maybe to grab a weapon...
Either way, there's no moral excuse to leave someone "missing" for days and driving their vehicle across the country. The guy deserves jail time even if she killed herself in front of him as far as I'm concerned.

If this is classified as a missing person case, and there is a person that was last seen with the missing person is in possession of her van....how can they not bring him in for questioning??
That just seems crazy to me
