The shear is good for supercell transition but it appears to be in a spot with lower low-level rotation potential. The dynamics to get a long run tornado are parked over the north half of Alabama at this point. Additionally the upper level support is fading a little and instability is starting to wane as well.

Starting to get a broad rotation in that supercell. Bad radar spot.

The lightning strikes coming off of it raised my eyebrows. It's about to run.

A little north of town, so they're ok.

Can we talk about this severe storm warning that doesn’t even touch the damn cell?

Yeah, the dynamics got explosive right about the state line. Funny how that works sometimes.

It's moving into an area of favorable conditions and has a wide open inflow. Hopefully, it doesn't fully utilize the environment.

This is getting out of control--two weeks in a row of HUGE tornados in the same general location. And Mississippi and Alabama are not generally considered to be part of Tornado Alley.

Correct. They are generally considered part of Dixie Alley....which I'm sure the name of is currently under some sort of review.

What? This area has been known as Dixie Alley for many years. Tornado outbreaks here are not uncommon.

It’s now known as Faubourg Alley

Sharing this Tweet just because I think it is cool.

Clarke County just for their severe storm warning at 6:38. That’s where the storm actually has been for 30 minutes.

EF-4 and EF-5 tornados used to be uncommon anywhere; now they seem to be routine. Look at what happened last year in Lee County, AL, Nashville in March and Mississippi Easter Sunday. Those were comparable to the megacyclones that have swarmed the Midwest for the last century.
