literally NOTHING supports that the black man was trying to mug the white guy half his age and twice his size, while unarmed. not a single thing. no matter how many other blacks rob white folk at whatever time of night.
your assumption that he was trying to mug your buddy just because hes a 60 year old black dude out at 130 is pretty racist to be honest

I don’t think it is fair to say how you would act after you were alone and mugged and drunk and just got into a fight. I would like to say I would do XYZ but I cannot say for certain.

Guy came up to me and my friend as he was pumping gas. He pointed a gun at me as I was sitting in the passenger seat. As I was grabbing my wallet, he dropped the gun on my lap

But there wasn't a gun or any weapon here so he had be trying to use his bare hands at best.

Let's talk about Occam's razor...
Ward is drunk as frick. Black guy walks up to him and maybe ask him for some money, typical panhandling. Ward's senses are all fricked up, mistakes it as a mugging, and kills the man.
That's still second degree murder, and it's the version I'm most inclined to believe at this point.

I honestly froze, and we stared at each other. After what felt like 30 minutes, I picked up the gun and he hauled arse
