They're relaying witness statements. I'm not sure what else should be considered at this point.

dude. all signs point to a blackout white kid being a pile of shite. the black dude didnt try to mug a dude half his age and twice his size. he was unarmed.

so many more things need to line up for it to be ANYTHING other than a blackout pile of shite attacking an innocent man.

As you have pointed out to me a 100000x before, the only info in the warrant is that of which is needed to support battery

The warrant would not contain possible witness statements that support self defense, correct?

yea, then it must be justified. Case closed. Jackson's housing status is not going to help the Defendant at trial.

He seemed to not think it was possible someone could be arrested for battery if they claim a mugging took place

I'm curious as to the source of the mugging claims. I find it hard to believe there were eye witnesses who say it was a mugging while the NOPD ups the charges two weeks later to second degree murder.

I find it incredibly likely that Ward would suggest it was a mugging. Not sure what other choice he has for a defense.

Why is this relevant to the eye witnesses?

I'm guessing Ward is counting on the "he's trash and I'm not, so who are you going to believe?" Routine.

And the black being homeless and living in government SUBSIDIZED housing is contradictory.

I agree with you

I am just saying we haven't even gotten an indictment yet, or a report. We are going on almost no minsocule info, and only info purely form the officers and state

Not sure, but I took it differently. I think the mugging is the ad hoc.
[link=(For each accepted explanation of a phenomenon, there may be an extremely large, perhaps even incomprehensible, number of possible and more complex alternatives. Since one can always burden failing explanations with ad hoc hypotheses to prevent them from being falsified, simpler theories are preferable to more complex ones because they are more testable.[3][4][5])]LINK[/link]
It's likely a story because, why not, it's New Orleans at night....

, true, but they're not likely to arrest you for second degree battery if you've got witnesses saying he was being mugged and others saying it was an attack for no apparent reason. I'm skeptical they'd continue down that path two weeks later when Red eventually died.

Think about the Gasser situation. I realize that wasn't NOPD, but he was interviewed and released before eventually being charged with manslaughter. That charge was then increased to second degree murder.

I thought black out meant you couldn't remember what happened? That excuse that was helping him distance himself from his actions now hurts his claims he remembers being mugged and defending himself.

Source closer to Garrett than I told me it was an attempted mugging.

Why didn't he call police after the beat down? Why did he walk across the street as others watched and go into a parking garage and chill by a vehicle? If I knocked someone out who was trying to mug me I'm not gonna chill across the street. I'm getting the frick out of the area in case old baw has accomplices who are looking to shoot me.

So his story of being mugged should be thrown out since he was black out and is an unreliable witness.

Yeah, that's what makes it interesting. Discussing the facts are futile. Speculation is what keeps the day moving along.
