Biden’s America and Teedy’s Nola couldn’t be better

quote:

One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting near the Tchoupitoulas exit of the Pontchartrain Expressway, New Orleans police say. It's not clear when the shooting happened; it was reported to the media around 3:20 a.m. Sunday. Police say the shooting happened near the Tchoupitoulas exit of U.S. 90B West (Pontchartrain Expressway) in downtown New Orleans, but it's not clear whether it happened on the elevated expressway or on the lower level at the exit. NOPD says two people -- identified only as males with no ages listed -- were shot. One was pronounced dead at the scene; the other was taken to the hospital by EMS.

At least Latoya is trying to do something about it by urging the US senate to take action on gun background checks.

People laugh at those of us in incorporated Jefferson parish. But...
We have functional drainage, responsive police and good roads.
We can still drive in for dinner and drinks. I see no reason to live in nola and expect it's housing bubble to pop real soon.

Right. Because the bad guys ALWAYS follow the law when getting themselves a new piece.

By this logic we should just eliminate all laws, since bad guys don't ALWAYS follow them anyway.

Nah....just have DAs that actually enforce laws - not create new laws (not to enforce later).

Is there a day that goes by when there isn’t a shooting on the CCC?

The classic NOLA folk retort

"Crime hasn't happened to me so everyone who points out how bad crime is in NOLA is full of shite"

if this actually happens, violent crime is going to skyrocket even higher because criminals(you know, the ones who don’t follow the law) are going to feel emboldened by a perceived lack of firepower

eta-it also won’t prevent 1% of gun deaths

but we’ve got to do something y’all!
