We bought our first home 17 years ago in North Dallas for $134,000.00 it's valued at $420,000.00 now.
Wish I would have kept it as a rental

Our Founding Fathers would’ve begun slitting throats a loooooong time ago. We’re pussies compared to them.
I think I read somewhere recently that the highest tax rate before the Revolution was 6%.
And here we are bending over and taking it from the government.

I am not pro government or taxes but you are not comparing apples to apples. The government, rightly or wrongly, does a lot more shite now than it did in the 1700s.
The only way to lower tax rates is to significantly reduce government and we all know that is not happening anytime soon.
