Mrs M and I met there in a French class overlooking Lake Pontchartrain and a couple of Quonset huts, one of which, at the time,?was the Fine Arts studio.

We were in the first “UNO” graduation class.

It was LSUNO when I first enrolled having to carry computer punch cards from department to department to get classes before they filled up.

They subsequently moved to folding tables in the Chamber of Horrors. Not fun, but better than running form building to building in August heat.

Anyone estimate the redundancy and duplication costs in Louisiana’s university systems and across the number of campuses?

I bet no less than 100 truck stop casinos new construction costs worth are burned annually.

It should have been merged with SUNO and become part of the Southern system.

Her theory at that time was that in foreign countries they are unlikely to have heard of Louisiana State University, but everyone has heard of New Orleans.

Was this before Saban was hired?

The others go to DC, Atlanta, etc.

I think about 2 people stay each year in New Orleans.

UNO is recognized as one of the most ethnically diverse public universities in Louisiana.
The breakdown of the student population is approximately:

White: ~42.3%
Black or African American: ~23.7%
Hispanic or Latino: ~14.2%
Asian: ~7.4%
Two or More Races: ~4.4%
International & Others: ~8.0%

Almost 60% minorities. LSU knows what they're doing

LSU is headed in this direction.

When they still have not posted common data set for fall 2025 freshman or the Spring 2026 enrollment at a glance numbers you can bet the % of the new fall 2025 freshman submitting ACTs dropped even lower and the demographics of the undergraduates on campus in the Spring got less white than the fall numbers were.

That increase in application submissions for this fall is likely to be mostly made up of blacks hoping to get scholarships based on inflated grades while ACTs still not required for anyone. This class is still basically Tate’s with a lot offers placed before new leaders started.

Before the UNO designation, they were under the LSU system.

They were still in the LSU System as UNO.

Pretty sure I saw one in network for BCBS today. Searched the name and immediately remembered there’s no way in hell my son would agree to go to a Jew dr. Lady had a nose for a face.
