For anyone who wants to know that amounts to approximately 24,250 license plate violations (assuming a $200 ticket). That sure was worth the officers time wasn't it?

I'll say it again here...pulling people over for petty traffic offenses is not worth it to the taxpayer.

But why in the hell are we building a freaking memorial to a freaking criminal over it?

Plenty of dead celebrities and honored individuals were criminals and have memorials

It is pretty relevant to the memorial they are building on campus for him
It's the university's decision, so whatever...but yea, that's the only part of it I question.

Maybe they'll do it in the right way, who knows.

If you wanted to take a simplistic view, its because the lawyers at Cincy thought they would likely lose at court by a preponderance of the evidence, so they settled.

civil cases don't have the same burden of proof as criminal cases was my point

I agree- I was referring to the civil portion of this case.

I don't know about the memorial, but the settlement is justified.

the journalist seemed to think that was an important tid bit...I think the race of the cop is meaningless. A bad shooting is a bad shooting.

My cousin was shot on the University of Cincinnati's campus trying to bring dog food up to his fiancee's apartment. He is alive but still hasn't been able to finish up school due to PTSD

I can see wrongful death money, giving free education to his kids is awesome and encouraging better policing policies is good too. Putting up a memorial is

Why? So the cops were POS, but you shouldnt then memorialize another POS just because of that. If Hitler would have been unjustly murdered, should we memorialize him

Wait. What? Are you really comparing this guy to Hitler? The guy was murdered why couldn't you just be happy for his family that they'll get a free education and not have to worry about money. How many times he had been arrested is immaterial. He had a right to live too.
