I wouldn't necessarily call it brain washing. This is a Louisiana based website. I have worked in industrial construction for 35 years. Most all of it Union. That being said, the worst, most lazy motherfricking union workers came out of Louisiana. So in my opinion people from Louisiana have a right to batch about lazy union workers. The rest of of us would just wish you keep them down there.

I'm siding with people.

If you want to better your life, stop tying it to the vote of a bunch of people who aren't very bright.

Most Americans improve their lives without the aid of unions. I know, strange. They actually get more educated, better training, more experience and can write their own ticket.

You are tied to an immovable group of people who don't have your best interest in mind.

Is this what Union representation looks like?

These types of unions are basically like paying the mafia protection money.

I didn't say they didn't. Why are you bringing this up? I haven't said anything about non represented workers getting hit.

Unions are at least supposed to protect the workers from corporations fricking over their employees such as this situation

So why does their leadership donate to globalist political elite?

I’m in a union, I don’t always agree who they support in elections, but they definitely fight hard for us and my job is always safe. With the leaders we have in New Orleans, I wouldn’t stay at this place without a union.

They have been bargaining since January and can’t reach an agreement. ExxonMobil has a proposal. Why not let the members vote on it? Is the membership too dumb to make the decision?

This plant is off cycle from everywhere else. The larger national agreement is up Jan 31, 22. They know if they bend over now it's a precursor to the larger agreement. XOM is coming in hard with little to no raises and a force majeure clause to allow them to cut wages in a time of need.

The union keeping the employees from voting on something they don't like as a way to protect the national agreement.

No no no! The corporations are nothing but evil greedy suits that only care about themselves. And the union leaders are completely selfless angles who only care for others. Don’t you dare suggest that both groups are cross-sections of people in general, some of which are good and some bad.

No. But you are pretending the union gives a shite about its members.

It's almost as laughable as believing that teachers unions care about the quality of education or the students at all.

Correct. Public sector unions are just fronts for the DNC.

In its proper role union leadership should care about its members as much as a CEO cares about its shareholders.

Unions have put union people out of work simply because they put idiots in charge who don't understand that their meddling gets plants shut down and reopened in less union friendly places. Boeing for example.

Why would a plant operator be unemployed bc of the steel workers being on strike. Admittedly I am not familiar with what XOM is doing over there, but I thought it was a plant expansion and upgrade. Is the existing plant still running this still employing operators?

USW also represents operating personnel in Beaumont. They are not just confined to steel workers. ExxonMobil trained replacements for the locked out workers to be able to operate their plant. No shutdowns required.
