Oh I didn't realize that police officers had those and didn't try to use them first... Thanks again for the inside info

You see. He had a choice. One is trained to use whatever force that is required in a situation. The other was not trained in how to respond to an officer. Now he is dead.
You are just too easy.

How about YOU post all of the details since you're already certain that this was deserving of a death sentence.
Point out where I said that. I've always said to wait until all the facts are made known. You are the one saying the suspect did not have to be shot without knowing the details.

I'll tell us what, hotshot...stroll on down to Queensboro or the lower 9th ward and tell me how that works out for ya.
I lived in Queenborough on Oakcrest until I was 10 but that's neither here nor there.
I look at how my white co-workers deal with me, and let their children have sleepovers with my son at my house, and wonder why. I've even been told that I'm not a real black guy. WTF does that mean?
Every person is different but to assume that the majority of black people are thugs is outrageous.

Contrary to popular belief most white people don't discriminate against black people because they're black. They discriminate against people who act like thugs.

It is, but the statistics are a direct indicator of what people see in real life. Every night the faces on the local news are mostly, sometimes all black. The white man can't help but draw conclusions.
Even before I heard M.L.K.s speech I judged each person for what they are. That being said I would never voluntarily go into those 2 zip code areas in B.R.
Compare that to the old days of Scotlandville. It was a bad place for people of any color. It looks pretty dam good now. People seem to feel safe.
You see what I did there? When changes are made people of all colors respond accordingly.

The cop probably has a family he would like to go home to see after his shift.
I don't know what happened but what if the victim was told on multiple occasions to stop and get on the ground but he didn't. What if the victim was advancing on the officer in a threatening way.
Shreveport just lost a 29 yr old officer just doing his job and some the comments the "black community " was saying on Facebook was appalling.
I don't condone cop brutality but damn it they should be able to do their jobs and return home everyday.

You just made my point. There were MULTIPLE officers on the scene when he was killed. These officers are supposed to be trained on how to deal with an unarmed 19 year old. This was not a one on one situation. A taser wouldn't have done the job? But I can tell you've already picked your side, so there's really no point in having a discussion with you. Peace.

There is no point because YOU have picked YOUR side Strongsafety. My mind is still open. I wasn't there. I don't know if he made the right decision or not. I've said that we should wait until the facts are out.
We are lining I-10 right now to receive the body of a white officer that was killed by a thug. I've sure as hell already picked my side on this. I'd be a lot happier if you were questioning this officer and the thugass bastard was dead.

What an obscure relative to ask. Why not ask a younger less-senile relative about him? If he's college aged, then his great-uncle has to be 60+, and is clearly not going to be objective.

Have you ever tried to control someone on drugs? They tend to have superhuman strength and tasers do not slow them down.
A reporter here in Atlanta recently did a ride-along. She said she was shaking at the end of the shift because she previously had no idea what police officers had to put up with.
You pay people minimum wage and ask them to put their lives on the line with every call they handle.
This item below is what all police officers deal with every day:
New DOJ Statistics on Race and Violent Crime
quote:
A black is 27 times more likely to attack a white
quote:
when whites commit violence they choose fellow whites as victims 82.4 percent of the time, and almost never attack blacks
quote:
Blacks attack whites almost as often as they attack blacks, and Hispanics attack whites more often than they attack any other group, including their own.
quote:
Figures from 10 years ago suggested that blacks committed violent crime at about seven times the white rate.
quote:
One in every 15 black men is in jail, as opposed to one in 36 Hispanics and one in 106 whites.
These are facts verified by DOJ data, not anyone's subjective opinion.

Probably the closest male relative they could find.

No. The Father commented on a different article.
quote:
"What he'd done, ain't no way right," Adrian Taylor told CNN affiliate KTVT. "But to shoot an unarmed man? You're a police officer, you're trained to take down men with your hands. You have your Tasers, you have your clubs, whatever there is. Unarmed, a 19-year-old -- and you shoot to kill?"
quote:
Christian Taylor had "no real problems," his father added. He said his often gave a helping hand to the homeless.
"A good dude, man," the father told the station. "We'd be going over here to church and he'd pull over and give a homeless guy money, shoes if he needed and he'd have to go back home and get some more shoes because he gave his away. He was like that."
The father didn't know what could have prompted his son to allegedly drive his SUV into the dealership.
"You know, it could have been too much drinking, he could have been wrong place at the wrong time, he could have gotten something and he didn't know what he was getting," the father told the affiliate. "I don't know."

Terrible to hear. Still have little to no facts surrounding the situation. If he was obviously armed, thats the only way the shooting could be justified, otherwise its all bad for the officer.

No one knows all the facts yet if you were in the officers shoes would you like to get in a struggle with someone where they might get your gun and kill you.
A lot of officers have been in hand to hand fights and lost their lives when the perp got the officers weapon.
Is it so wrong for an officer to want to live and use whatever force is needed. Now if the kid was on the ground or handcuffed or in the car then no it's not justified.
Here's a novel idea don't commit crimes and you won't have to worry about the police. If you get stopped comply and do as your told. How damn hard is this.

Oh wow. So now I'm a semi-rich white guy with a guilt complex?? Awesome!! Thanks for the new skin color and semi-rich status. What other magical powers will you bestow upon me oh mighty know it all?

9 posts since Jan. Two entries last month, 7 in this thread, and all defending the perps. You really gittin into this shite aintcha? Based on previous and very biased entries I can see why you haven't participated.
When was StrongSafety banned? When did Supgirl start telling us exactly how cops should act when confronting black suspects?
No witnesses to the shooting that weren't cops and you already know the cop should have took his stuff off and wrestled the guy. It would be funny if a guy hadn't died.
