It could be argued that they live a more stress free lifestyle without needing to earn as much as Americans.
This is pretty factual. I work with Brits occasionally and they have lighter work weeks, huge holidays (month or more), and generally seem less stressed out.

The “severe credit debt” is also a sign of wealth. Most people in the 3rd world are debt free.
Not saying it won’t be a problem in the future.

Did he ask how many were upside down in their RVs/trucks? That’s valuable information when comparing wealth.

Well we have more space and bigger homes.
Some of those folks in the Uk would be happy with just a bit of yard.

I think they'd be able to see if the RVs were upside down.
Sorry, I had to.

The truth is is most of the middle class has been eliminated and most of the people in the campground that that person witnessed are very upper middle class or lower upper class

It doesn’t always have to do with wealth, it has to do with American spending all of our money, we have an irrational obsession about having fancy shite and spending all of our money on material possessions, it doesn’t mean we are wealthy

What is the difference?
Folks in the UK that have money are generational wealth from what I have seen and are usually caretakers of the estate.

REEEEALLLLLY hate being cold….
I was traumatized by 20+ years of New Orleans summers. Mississippi is very close if not the same as New Orleans in terms of brutal and oppressive summer heat.

I’ve spent a pretty fair amount of time in the UK for work. Outside of London it is mostly lower class. I’ve also traveled around mainland Europe a good deal, and there are a lot of similarities.
People don’t have a lot of money. Class movement is very difficult. Starting a business is hard. The trade off is that the state takes care of a lot of basic needs.
It’s not a trade off I would make.

I can't think of any. My pets have better access to healthcare than they do (my vet doesn't go on strikes either). My dad is a British citizen, I was born there and hold dual-citizenship, and he has never looked at going back to live in the UK. The standard of living he has made for himself here by far eclipse's his peers and his sister's. The crushing tax burden and nickel-&-diming of their citizens makes life a miserable prospect for those not independently wealthy. Even the wealthy are fleeing the country, new tax proposals that would tax the total value of all held assets, including those held outside of the UK, on an annual basis. Truly a stupid and miserable little island now.
100% on all of that.
Most of Europe is like this. They are taxed more than we are, and get a hell of a lot less in return for it. Universal healthcare is horrible and when you really need to get something done you have to pay out of pocket, or go to another country to get it done. Not only are they taxed more, but they don't make as much money as we do. The average salary out of college is twice as high in the US as it is in the UK.
Most Americans have no idea how much freedom they actually have, and how much opportunity to make money and do whatever the hell they want they have in this country if they are willing to work for it.
I will agree with what someone else said, that they live a lot more stress free life than we do in the USofA.

Because having to make your own decisions and provide for yourself, absent the government, can cause lots of stress.
I bet as a kid, we were far less stressed as well.

You must have missed the part where I posted that their COL is about 60% of what is is in the states. With where I live it's probably less than half.
Or do you think that the majority of Europe is homeless camps?

I did think this, but my lasting memory of NI is once you get out of Belfast everyone has McMansions etc. Land is plentiful and cheap.
Doesn't help with the other expenses but I would expect sq ft of housing is bigger than England.
