Tell me why a protester would be covering his face with a bandana? Thats a clear sign of a lefist antifa type at a rally/protest. Like a confederate flag/nazi symbol/shaved head for a white supremacist.
You should be allowed to wear a mask while you peacefully protest.
For most states with anti-mask laws, they're usually only illegal if you commit another crime while wearing one.
Arguing wearing a mask at a protest should be a crime is as ridiculous as arguing open carrying a gun at a protest should be a crime.

You shouldn't be able to cover your face in a place where rioting and protesting are happening. Its the same threat. I would imagine an even bigger one.
A riot and a protest are two different things. If you're breaking the law, then you should be detained, mask or not. If you're not breaking any law, wearing a mask shouldn't be a crime either.

If you are wearing a mask at a protest, yes it should be illegal. It a matter of public safety. Just my opinion. You also should not be able to open or conceal carry at one either. All of those things are just asking for trouble, people getting assaulted/hurt/killed.

Nah. That's too far

why? how does not being able to wear something to hide your identity infringe on your rights?

This sentence sounds like some public decree out of the Eastern Block and should not be uttered by anyone that values freedom.

This is equally as terrifying.

Because you have a freedom of association, and you also have a freedom of harassment for that association. In other words, if you want to peacefully protest for a cause that would garner harassment in your personal life, you should be able to hide your identity during that protest.
I understand the public safety aspect, but it's difficult to create a law that is narrow enough to be effective while not infringing on the rights of peaceful protesters (I understand Antifa isn't peaceful).

You are 100% infallibly correct. And the next time the police arrest you and search your home without a warrant, or the police do nothing about any crazy individual or mob attacking you in the streets, you need to say and do nothing because that doesn't usually happen to people. Your complaint in that instance needs to be ignored because you'd be making it seem like a giant problem when it's actually a bit overblown.
I think rioters need to be jailed and I think people need to be able to speak on campuses.
What I'm saying is that we need to stop caving to them and ignoring their whining about "hate speech" and instead allow people to speak on campuses when invited.
The vast majority of speaking engagements, even by so called controversial speakers, goes on without incident but the media makes it seem like no one conservative can ever speak on a campus because of riots.

Because they want to support but not get their life ruined by the SJW hordes online if a photo gets out.
It’s not as absolute as you are trying to make it out to be.

Well I reckon the good normal protestors are going to have to police their protest better then, if they are afraid of being affiliated with the ones that turn it bad.
it's not hard at all. No face covering during a protest. So yes as absolute as i'm stating it. If you stand behind your cause then it doesnt matter who takes pics. In pics people can tell if you are supporting or not the negative behavior. Actually would benefit you if you are a peaceful one.
I get how it's a grey area, but I'm tired of these protests causing damage. And white cowards hiding their faces as they do it. At least blacks loot, and cause damage with no flying fricks about who captures them on camera.

In Louisiana it is against the law to wear a mask in public for the specific purpose of concealment. (R.S. 14:313)
With exceptions for Halloween, Mardi Gras and others of course.

Today we have a ton of stupid shite being done in the name of "public safety". Crying "public safety" is definitely a refuge for scoundrels.

I was hoping this was more along what you were saying lol. I think just using pronouns in your first post caused the confusion.
