if his car was made in the past 5 years (ie: just about all Uber cars were) then they have a GPS tracker built in.

Again. I thought Uber drivers were now targets because bad guys know they don't carry?

I never said that. I'm more concerned with the passengers.

Uber has pretty strict standards for their cars. It varies by city, but it has to be pretty freaking new (again, depends on the city).

Their safety.

Why? Because they can't carry a gun (as if the driver would ever know). You know, 99.9% of people in this world don't carry a gun and 98% have never even shot or handled a gun period, so I'm not sure what your point is.

Ok, I'll try to put this as simple as I can explain it: almost all new cars have GPS trackers and Uber mostly requires new cars. Hard to comprehend, I know, but it's a pretty simple concept for anyone who has passed freshman year of high school.

So take a cab and pay 5x the price.

Then come on here and brag about it.

I used uber for the 1st time this weekend in Baton Rouge. Both drivers we had were carrying. I don't blame them.

What are you talking about?

Are you talking about data recorders?

This law could possibly be applied to Uber's policy.

22 States have laws against banning guns in employees vehicles.

Yet you advocate govt stepping in and telling businesses what to do when it fits your motive.

How is him pointing out 22 states that have protected the individual rights of employees by statute show him to be a big government type of guy. That is a 10th Amendment State's Rights argument he just made. Local rule and all.

I don't have a problem with them carrying. How did you know they were carrying, out of curiosity? Were their guns just lying in plain view, or did they just casually go "Oh by the way, I have a gun?"

Bc in the real world, it doesn't matter if it's the Feds or the state government that's interfering with the way a business runs itself

I would consider Uber drivers independent contractors so shouldn't they have the final say as to what is allowed in THEIR vehicle?
