Looks like a baby garter snake to me. Hard to tell when they are that little for me.

You already got 2 legit answers. Make a good pet for kids.. Free food if they go and find slugs for it to eat! It's cool to watch them eat the slugs!

Pretty much.. Only grow up to i think about 12 inches.

This one was almost as long as my dick, I put it right around 11 inches.

No problem, I've only learned about them recently because we found one and kept it! Kids think it's so cool that they get to have a pet snake!
