The word draconian triggered you ? Weird.

The point is the punishment should be commensurate to the offense for it to be a just punishment.

I thought so too

He espouses patience and understanding while stating that others are calling for "draconian" consequences.

I have not seen anything of the sort.

Why is that so hard for some to comprehend?

The backlash these two students will cause on the high school warrants this punishment.

So, we should punish people now based on the backlash that it could cause?

Lots of hysterics (from a couple posters) over people disagreeing on a pretty trivial punishment.

Interesting how some people are so eager to protect hate speech.

We all have our pet causes, I suppose.

Define hysterics.

Never mind, I’ll do it for you: a wildly emotional and exaggerated reaction

Now, show us where the hysterics are.

Why do you think it’s trivial? This should be interesting.

More interesting is how some think some are protecting hate speech. Go ahead and show us where anyone of said some is protecting that stupidity.

Hell, I think we should execute those who fight in school. I mean that’s a proportionate punishment, right?

I’m a HUGE believer in protecting unpopular speech. My citizenship actually REQUIRES it. Your right to be an insufferable , entitled, racist a-hole Is actually a thing worth protecting. Do you need me to explain why?

I have not seen where a punishment has been proposed. I take that back. The option of offering a fake apology was put out there.

The primary response that the issued punishment is an unjust overreach.

No one is getting arrested or having their constitutional rights stripped for saying the N word.
