This reminds me of that white rhino that was shot for no reason. It happened in Broussard back in the mid 90's. Louisiana obviously can't handle endangered species.

Hate to see this. Tamarins are great and one of the only reasons with Slow Lorises that I visit the zoo.

I'm concerned how this might negatively impact the states average IQ

Cotton-top tamarin monkeys weighing less than one pound each were left outside at the Alexandria Zoological Park on Jan. 7 when temperatures were as low as 30 degrees in Alexandria, La. that night. The monkeys’ native habitat is northern Colombia’s tropical forests and they require temperatures between 76 to 85 degrees, according to the Associated Press.

“The incident is under investigation,” Public Works Director David Gill said, according to Alexandria newspaper, the Town Talk. “The employee, who was initially on administrative leave and had been removed from any animal care, has resigned. This appears to have happened as a result of human error and not a system problem.”

Now the fired zookeeper can go be a cop somewhere. Silver lining

This is ridiculous. Zoo keeper should be fired immediately, and the zoo should be closed indefinitely pending an investigation.

The entire purpose of a zoo is the preservation of the animal kingdom.

No reason to have endangered species in Alexandria to begin with.

Why the frick does shithole Alexandria have a zoo?

Can they even support one?

I mean, really, I find it odd that any city in La besides NOLA has a zoo

The Alexandria zoo is really nice and does well.

They are even expanding.

It shits on the Baton Rouge zoo.

The one in Broussard, that shot a white rhino, does well.
