Twitter users, have you had an absurd amount of wrestling content on your timeline lately?

So I follow a few people who I know like wrestling, but that's not their main source of content (general sports and video game coverage), but this entire week I've seen tweet after tweet after tweet from wrestlers or people talking about wrestling and it's out of control. I wondered why everyone was re-tweeting this crap, like a Wrestlemania or something, but they're not even re-tweets. Just says "Person you follow follows this person".
I'm muting all of it but it keeps coming. Did twitter change a setting that likes to push this stuff through for certain events now? When I was on facebook, I remember they would show a post and say at the top "Friend likes this page". But I don't get why it's all wrestling this week.

Could also be ads or sponsored tweets. It happens a good bit.

This is the first time I've seen it this bad. I know they have had big wrestling events before and I never see twitter just throw that crap on my feed.

I've seen that, but they'll usually have the "promoted" tag at the bottom.

No wrestling crap on Twitter, nor memes with two women, and a cat, on Facebook. Why do you guys follow people that post that kind of stuff. I only keep up with family on Facebook, and the people I follow on Twitter are more sports related than anything else. I never see undesirable posts except for an occasional hard core Trump supporter, or Bama fan, on my timeline.
