Sounds like good advice. Sometimes I wish I could just disappear to a cabin in the mountains for six months or so just to get a social detox.

A lot of people must be thinking like this today because I feel it. There’s just too much shite in the world. There are ways to fix some of these things, but the powers that be want things to be shite.

I've largely done that and it really helps. I prefer to live a joyful life. I don't watch any news shows. I'll watch a nightly FNC show if there's something interesting going on.
I monitor TD to get news alerts and investigate from there.
I CERTAINLY DO NOT watch the nightly news - neither local nor national. It's mostly propaganda. I do not need to be propagandized. I can think for myself.

Is it everything you've dreamed that it would be when the world was younger?

. I do the same. Most everything is reported on TD sooner than any national news media. I remember an earthquake and n Alaska and RogerTheShrubber was reporting live 45 mins before the news media. Last night the Dayton shootings was on here and Twitter before the nationals had it. Same with the Baton Rouge cop shootings. The great Chicken has created a news contender.

YES!!!!!

What’s the easiest way to be miserable and depressed? Watch the news! Nothing but a bunch of hand picked, sad stories gathered from around the world, of which you can do nothing about and are left feeling helpless. Pay attention to where you are and make it better, starting with yourself, the only person you can control.

Just got back from the beach with awesome friends and my little family. Got there Thursday evening and left this morning. The TV never went on. It was all games and fun and no BS on phones and fear mongering news stories.

That’s a nice way to do things. Life is good.

I can't stand watching a movie with someone who is on their phone. We're suppose to laugh and gasp together, not just me. If I wanted that I'd watch it alone.
