we've had 250 mass shootings already this year and it's august
we have a problem as a country, whether it's too many guns, too easy access of guns, mental health (which is a cop out because no one wants to talk about more difficult issues and "he must not have been in his right mind" makes it easier to sweep it away) or a culture of violence, racism etc.
we don't need to stop thinking or talking about it we need to actually embrace the fact that we have a sickness as a society and figure out what we need to do to fix it. 250 shootings.

Just got back from hiking in the woods with the dog. Feel much better now. Some good physical exercise can cure a lot of things. It at least wears me out and helps at least quiet the mind for a bit.

Exactly. Turn it off. If no one watched the news and then constant PR bullshite, it would die. And believe or not, your life would go on. And improve actually.

The police shot that crazy bastard in Dayton less than a minute after he opened fire. Still, he managed to kill nine people in that short time. If everyone there had been armed, I doubt that he would have killed that many people, if he even had the balls to try.

My only news of the shootings has been here. I'm at a point where I don't care. Neither side will discuss the issues each wants to blame the other. It won't get better.
