I have never seen this type of #flood control measure before! Here is how some farmers deal with a breach in the Tulare Lake bottom. I assume they will pile some additional dirt on. #cawater #cawx #farm #agriculture

Will those trucks run again?

The comments complaining about the trucks leaking oil & gas are killing me.

Not sure why the idiots on twitter still amaze me. Like third comment was about pollution from the gas/oil of the trucks damaging the environment. #Headupasscondition

I’m not sure that’s re best route to take there. Sure it will slow of water down, but it certainly won’t stop it.

The corps did the same thing with old river control in April 1973. They were putting old cars, dirt, whatever they could find to fill the breach.

These are the kinds of folks who believe their food is created in labs in the back of grocery stores.

If you just dumped dirt in the gap with water moving that fast it will wash away immediately. The trucks clogged it and slowed the rate of flow enough to cover the rest with dirt. Typically you would dump rip rap (large grey rocks) into the hole for this but it appears they were in a hurry to save homes so this was the best solution

Ole boy only was worried that some fluid might leak from the vehicle, didn't seem to care about actual damage being done to property. Doubt he's ever left a city.

This is the most Mexican thing I’ve ever seen.

Laughing at all the libs in the comments worried about oil and gas from the truck getting in the water and hurting the environment. These idiots have no concept of dilution. Reminds of the west coast town that drained their entire town reservoir because some kids were seen peeing in it.

Gotta have stuff to hold the dirt in place so it can be filled. If not, it washes out as you dump it.
