Thank you TulaneLSU for another great post. I’m surprised you haven’t done a list of New Orleans churches. Look forward to your next post. God Bless.

BRich, Friend,

Thank you for such an informative post. My illness caused a typo with the numbering of two buildings and I am ever grateful for your correction. Your photographs are also stunning, your story of daring gripping, and your observation on the Executive Tower's position astute. I concur absolutely. Perhaps with your connections we could gather an OT group and tour the Lakeway Center? That would be marvelous.

Sincerely,
TulaneLSU

if this were to ever come to fruition, please consider me for inclusion into the group. I can walk there from my house along the lakefront, and that would be a splendid way to spend the day.

My dear TulaneLSU, I have not seen "the Tower" ever called that, I am denizen of the West Bank, my scoutmaster built that hotel when he worked for FEJTA Construction. It was originally a Sheraton and the attached coffee shop with the large globe pendant lights was called Pogo's.

I longed to patronize Pogo's and as a lad asked nearly every time we passed it on the West Bank Expressway, the ground level before the elevated was built; but my parents simply said it was not a worthy eatery.

I rarely travel west of Kenner, so this is unlikely to happen.

Friend,

I have forced Mother into quarantine for the time being. She is not allowed to leave the house nor enter my room. Even under normal circumstances she knows I often do not sleep well and stay up most the night. I haven’t had a bedtime since I was 16.

She thinks I am trading stocks, building back the family's fortunes. While some time is devoted to trading, that’s such a simple and quick thing to do. Most of the time is spent reading. I also pray for you and all our friends here. The lamp is dim, but often lit. Be safe and well, my friend.

Sincerely,
TulaneLSU

Brother,

I pray that Mother recovers as quickly and as strong and you are restoring the family fortunes.I have oft thought of you and Mother as modern-day Medici. With you as Lorenzo and Mother of course as Lucrezia Tornabuoni albeit with paler skin. I would not dare suggest mother had any Mediteraian blood in her.

The light of the Lord burns bright in my heart and hearth and I thank thee for your concern. I pray that this sinful world is cleansed by Gods holy creation and that this virus takes the unclean straight to hell and those that still be saved back unto his Church.

As always your faithful brother.

I usually think that you try too hard to come across as an Ignatius-type character, but the account of the short-lived relationship with Julie is pure gold.

Friends,

It was announced today that #7 will become a retirement community. So long for the days of the 80s there.

Yours,

The only benefit of retiring there would be the benefit of being able to jump to my death.
