Just had a buddy move to the Bluff Park/Shades Crest area. Absolutely gorgeous. Had a nice burger with a fantastic view while helping him move his shite. Can't remember the name of the place, but it was very reasonable and extremely fast.

Tip Top Grill?

the Birmingham Airport Holiday Inn

Friend,

I stayed there one time some 20 years ago en route to a NASCAR weekend at Talladega. Never again.

Next time, may I suggest downtown's Redmont Inn, the location of Hank Williams last full night on Earth.. Now all gentrified and fancyfied, but still located in a funky part of downtown.

Y'all come back soon now, ya hear?

Friend,

I was in need of my DDT, my Diet Dr. Thunder. Road trips necessitate this liquid strength. I buy a two liter bottle for every day of my road trips and sip on it throughout the day.

I don't even know how to respond to this. Good review/list though.

Sincerely,

Yep. Just has some friends from BTR stay there. Got an excited late-night text from them regarding the Interstate (20/59): "It lights up".

Um, yeah, that's what some $1M+ of LED lights can do for you.

I arrived at Holiday Inn. The concercierge there was wonderful and the check-in process seamless. My room was high above the world with a stunning view of Interstate 20, the parking lot, and glimpses of the runway lights from Birmingham’s airport.

Friend, Im in Bham this week, my old stomping ground. We could grab a few beers. You need to tour some breweries.

It's not exactly in the nicest part of town.

I could go for some draft Kaleidoscope Sours and the lamb from Gianmarco's.

Cool. I live about two miles from the Vestavia Bowl. Glad you weren't there today as its prone to major flooding.

Only slightly. I believe it’s “technically” in between Marbury and Clanton, but I’ve always considered that part of Clanton territory

It’s right on the Chilton county line
