This is a really frickin cool concept. The Japanese and Indonesians who survived the past tsunamis would appreciate this, but most will not be able to afford it.

These inventors should collaborate on inventing houses that can detach and float, and accurately return to their foundation, for the folks in Denham who suffer a 1000 year flood every 30 years.

It needs to be more boat shaped so you can include a small outboard inside.

Pop the hatch, install outboard, and head to land.

I watched the live video feed of the Japan Tsunami. A plane was flying overhead circling and following the water in land. The water flow wasn't fast, but it just kept coming and coming as it covered fields, houses, accumulated against the side of raised roads and then over them (except at the overpasses), and then farther and farther inland.

These claustrophobia inducing spheres would have worked in that part of Japan. Right next to rivers ....from other videos we saw later, not so much as buildings collapsed.
