So what part of the REAL ID makes it safer?

And since it is now enacted and traveling is safer what parts of TSA are being scaled back?

What are you on about bro? I’m sorry for insulting your sensibilities but it’s the truth. Want my payroll output? Let’s check our creds.

What are you talking about? No one is even arguing this. If you want to fly, you’ll need it or get a passport. Or don’t. No one gives a shite.

It’s simple. Show both. The TWIC for TSA purposes and ID to scan bc twic doesn’t scan. Easy enough.

Yea I wonder if this info could possibly be found on an airline website, TSA.gov, or anywhere else. For a law passed 20 years ago. Texas hasn’t issued non realID licenses for ten years, but this is a fricking surprise.

I’m sure everyone in Ohio, etc, is as lazy and uninformed as OP, but damn, it doesn’t give me any faith.

Because of my job, I had a new TWIC card. I was crossing the border a day after I got it. Thought I’d try it. The agent coming back into the US, stopped me for a second. Called the guy next to him, to come over. They had never seen one. I used it for years.

When you buy your ticket, enter your TWIC number into the TSA pre blank. It will then check that number and issue a TSA pre boarding pass. Have it with you when you show it to TSA. Used it many times. Works great.

You can get through TSA without a real ID. It'll take about 8-10 minutes longer. The REALID design is to consolidate all your information into one database for the government. I'd rather just be a pain in the arse for them, so I just renewed the passport since that works as well. If they want all of my data they can spend an extra day and give some window licker overtime to pull all my info together, if they want it that bad.

Do I need a “real ID” with TWIC card? My DL doesn’t expire for two years and didn’t want to deal with DMV if I didn’t need. I also think TWIC is good for for TSA precheck. I saw mixed reviews on google. Any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

you can use the number on the back of twic for tsa pre-check...will still need a passport or real id for flying. I didnt read the rest of the thread but I can tell you, from experience, that 99% of TSA employees are morons when it comes to TWIC(also in general) and they will ask for license if you show them twic. I dont care what the rules say.

I have tried it multiple times and they look at it and you like you are retarded because they dont know better
