#NEW: President Trump says he’s considering new restrictions on domestic travel, and urged people not to travel if it wasn’t essential:

“If you don’t have to travel, I wouldn’t do it.”

That was predictable...honestly, I see it as one of the few things that will slow the spread. New cases invariably involve someone who has traveled.

Anyone else kinda surprised that travel restrictions weren’t put in place last week?

Hotels can be a breeding ground for the virus. It can last on a surface for 4 days? When they do bed changes and bathroom, do they wipe down all surfaces like desk, fridge handle, door handles, etc...

Every person I have talked to that has been in an airport in the past week has commented on how light the crowd was. It seems as though we already have self-imposed travel restrictions.

I strongly suspect we will be shutting down all commercial passenger air travel in the US for thirty days.

Most companies have unless it’s absolutely vital.

Good

Build a wall 30 miles from the coast from Seattle to San Diego and from Boston to DC

No crossings of food, water, or people permanently

How would this be enforced? We have maybe 10s of thousands of roads connecting states. Not to mention people that live in one state and work in another. What about doctors and nurses in that situation? It would have to be an honor code type of ruling

that would be extreme. They haven't done that from other countries. Non-citizens from many countries can't come into the country, but citizens can.

Secondly, this happened once in our country's history. There was a two-day ground stop of all domestic travel after 9-11.

It would obligate the government to bail out the airlines with zero argument. Airlines are probably begging for this.

United, Delta, and Southwest will survive but all of the other airlines who have high debt load (American, Spirit) will wind up going out of business.
