Had a discussion recently with someone who argued the most of the people who grow up in cities are better educated and have more opportunities, so they do not join the military.

They used to not let city people even join. I think Obama changed that.

That argument that the dumb join the military hasn’t been valid since Vietnam. Not that I’m calling any Vietnam era service members dumb, but the standards aren’t what they are today. It’s harder to get into military training nowadays than most state colleges. 75% of the US population that are in the age bracket do not qualify to get into military training right now. Tim Kennedy spoke about in on Rogan a few months back.

Most of the SF units are comprised of all southern and Midwest guys because we’re the hardest. Also, upstate NY has some baws up there too.

you must be from the low educated rural demographic. 90% of enlisted graduate in the lower half of their high school classes.

That's interesting that there are more Black Females than Black Males in service.

Don't know much about this website. Seems reputable enough. But it has the stats that you're asking about and more.

EDIT: Guess I'm late on this.

Me and my best friend both came from lower class families and joined right out of high school. You do meet a combination of financially diversified community. We had all types, both rich and poor. We had this one guy who was on his way to becoming a Harvard Graduate, because it's what his family wanted. His whole family graduated Harvard Law. Well he always wanted to join the Military. He did, and probably pissd off a lot of people.

You also see young College Football Players with a big future in the NFL but decided Military. I commend them. Lol, however probably not smartest decision financially.

You must be a mouth breather that couldn't get into the military at all... These threads always bring your ilk out from under the rocks.
