I drove across the causeway northbound this morning. I saw a CG Helicopter flying a grid so I would assume that at least 1 person is still unaccounted for. I also saw 2 CG boats runinning around. They had a tow truck with an extendable boom preparing to raise the truck. I thought it was a dump truck that went over the side, but the lifting arm on the tow truck did not look stout enough to pick a dump truck out of Lake P.

They might want to consider doing 24 hour construction on this.

They should only have to close the lane for the section of the bridge they are working on - a few hundred feet at a time. Granted that will still cause traffic issues but at least they are not closing a lane for the entire stretch.

Traffic specifications require longer sections to actually be closed. While I agree that the entire length doesn't need to be closed, the lane "prior" to the closure, from the merge on back, will back up horrendously, effectively closing that lane.

The fact this guy went overboard meant that he was likely the only vehicle involved

A strong railing on that narrow of a bridge means he bounces back at 60 mph and potentially kills multiple other people


It sounds morbid, but a 1 vehicle accident is better than a 3 or 4 vehicle accident

tolls have already increased since this morning.

The numbers are not equal at certain times of the day, but they are pretty close to equal over the course of the day.

In other words, at least 95 percent of people that cross the bridge in one direction will shortly cross the bridge in the other direction.

For example, from 12 am to 12 pm, you might have 50,000 cars travel southbound, and 10,000 travel northbound.

Then from 12 pm to 12 am, you might have 10,000 cars travel southbound and 50,000 travel northbound.

Headed north bound and there is still a CG helicopter flying a grid

And it's been that way for months, maybe a year. It's a missing section of railing and they have a few plastic orange cones sitting on top of the concrete side wall. Those cones are really do a lot of good.
