If the shooter is really 85 and he's been being bullied by a 50ish a-hole for 10 years, I think he might be able to get off. Maybe his lawyer gets an expert witness doctor to testify that he had some type of diminished capacity or a shrink to diagnose PTSD from years of harassment. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Just because someone pisses you off doesn’t give you the right to kill them. He’s going to have to say he feared for his life. The guy has 2nd degree murder written all over him if all the allegations are true.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested Wayne Higgins, 78, in connection with the fatal shooting of Lee "Big Lee" Martin. Higgins is suspected of shooting Martin outside of his Bonnabel Boulevard home Saturday morning (May 5) after a dispute.
Authorities were able to obtain video of the incident from a neighbor's home, though that video has not been released publicly. Lopinto said the video showed Martin and a neighbor, now identified as Higgins, getting into a dispute after Martin sprayed the neighbor's black truck with water from a hose.
The argument appeared to escalate, and the video shows the neighbor exiting his vehicle with a gun and shooting Martin. Lopinto said JPSO is still investigating the details of the incident, including how many times Martin was shot.
It is not yet clear what charges Higgins will face.

What? He could've easily driven off. He was in his truck with it running. He put it in park, continued escalating the situation, and then got out with the intention of shooting Big Lee, then shot him.
I understand that half of the US has an IQ below 100, but that's pretty cut and dry

So it's ok to put a house for sale and then threaten people with a gun who come to look at it? That's far different than what you're attempting to explain. I could possibly see your point if someone is on your property for no good reason at all.

I was on his property without an invitation. Many people let that slide; he didn’t.
A “For Sale” sign doesn’t mean “Come tour around my property whenever you’d like”. I assumed it would be ok to pull up his driveway to see the back of the property without exiting my vehicle. My assumption was wrong and he let me know that.
When I returned weeks later, I did so with an appointment, so I was invited.

FWIW, the old neighbor drives an older Tundra with flames going down it and cop spotlights on each A pillar. I'm not saying I'm not trashy, but I definitely wouldn't be caught driving that.

Using google street view you can clearly see 615 on Big Lee's house and the new palm trees. He'd need good water pressure to hit the neighbor on the right.
