Coming down in sheets in Beaumont right now. What’s odd is there is zero thunder and lightning.

other than some passing wind gusts, HTown should be out of the woods now. Got off super easy all things considering.

Yep. With this sloppy arse storm the closer you are to the center the better the weather gets. Most lopsided storm I’ve seen in awhile.

Been raining in LC for a while but it has been relatively light-moderate. Nothing crazy that would cause flash flooding. I know we are not out of the woods by any means but so far, I think we have been fortunate.

Pretty sure lightning is rare in tropical systems. Exceptions are outer bands and the eyewall of intense storms.

Looks like most of SE Houston/Harris should be ok. 5-6 inches in the Clear Creek watershed, the channel is out of bank in the lower reaches, probably mostly due to higher tides. Upper reaches still rising but pretty comfortably within bank.

Similar story for Armand Bayou and its tribs. Got 4-5 inches and is handling that fine (TWSS). Especially the smaller tribs are ok given the lower rain rates. Mainstem seeing decent rises but nothing terribly concerning.

Other creeks and bayous in the east side behaving themselves, including Hunting and Carpenters. Only exception is those spots affected by tide/surge.

Looks like Armand is cresting now. So are lower Greens and Hunting. Clear will stay elevated for a while.

Yeah it just cleared up a bit here in downtown LC. I need to take the dogs out now before another band hits.

Yesterday around 2-3 I was in Brenham, TX and it was TS-like conditions. Grey sky, huge wind gusts, etc. It was crazy to be that far north of Houston and still getting it before the system was really going.

Wasn't bad at all in most of Houston. Knocked out power some places. But when the news crews are showing a little flooding in the streets, not houses, and some big trees down, but not fallen on a house, you know the storm wasn't bad.
