The bingo card needs the one random run that always sends the major hurricane (even when it’s just in the depression stage) straight into New Orleans. All the other models will have it going no where near.

That is like having another free space.

And where I live. We stayed for Cat 5 Michael, which turned away from us in the wee hours of the morning, so I guarantee we’re not leaving.
Edited to add: yes, that was beyond stupid. I told my husband I’d leave him home by himself the next time.

Good news for that area, you want to be the first landing spot...this far out....rare that it ends up there with no change in the track this far

We went from no rain at all between June 9 and July 18, everything brown and dusty, cracks in the ground big enough to trip up a squirrel to overgrown in a week. We have had over seven and a half inches of rain in the last ten days. 7.53" at the house.
We got more in one day (3.4") than we had the entire month of June, and most of that was in the span of around an hour and a half. There were lots and lots of cars with flashers on.
I mowed Saturday between showers. It was a mess. I cut it pretty high just to make it easier, so......I'll have to cut again in a day or two.

I think there is so much confusion about this. When a compressor starts it requires a lot of power to get going. So outside A/C units have a capacitor to build up charge and deliver it to the compressor upon start so it's not drawing too much power through your breaker box.
Starting with the capacitor is called a hard start. It starts the compressor and fan at the same time. You can replace the capacitor for about $20.
Or you can buy a soft starter like this and deliver the current to the fan motor and compressor in series. The problem is, this soft starter is almost $400.
It's not worth it IMO. Just replace the capacitor for $20 to see if you can get a year or two more out of your compressor. If you blow that, you probably might consider getting a new outside unit.
Yeah, we replaced the capacitor, and sill had issues.
Admittedly, I don't know a ton about AC systems. A soft start was put on my compressor, but during testing the generator couldn't get the AC to fire up.
We got in touch with an AC tech, and my unit has a reciprocating compressor, which draws too much juice at start up for the generator handle. A soft start wouldn't help.

Remember guys a mask is the most important supply item to have in your hurricane kit.

Does this mean I should cancel next week’s Everglades trip? Snakes don’t come out in the rain.

I'd wait and see how it looks a little closer.

Current models aren’t doing much
GFS doesn’t develop it at all
Euro had South Carolina landfall as weak TS
Canadian has weak fish storm
