I responded to some ridiculous "emergency" alert titled "DOVE IN DISTRESS" where some woman drove by a dove walking across the street and proceeded to ask the the entire neighborhood what to do. So I dropped a quick "first you make a roux" and was attacked for days. Only one other dude chimed in with "lots of them gonna be in distress in November," but people really take that shite seriously.

I cannot believe that you commented on the "Linda and Jeanie Cleaning Service" post without mentioning the insane woman's posting of close up pictures of the urine drops on her toilet. Opportunity missed

You can change your profile to only show your street name and not your full address, which everyone should do. But you still have to provide Nextdoor your full address that matches up with your phone number in some software that they have. I don't really trust Nextdoor and its admins to keep that information private. You basically have to commit mail fraud if you want to use any address other than your own, unless there is some other way...if there is, tell me!

It used to be pretty easy to spoof an address. I've been banned several times. The first time was because I was an obvious troll. The other times were slight trolling but someone would file a complaint to the admins because I was calling out people's BS and an admin somehow claimed that the name I was using was fake and didn't match any records they had for the address I had given.

I got banned after some old lady was on there bitching about my neighbor building a very nice cedar deck himself.

I commented “why don’t you mind your own fricking business” and got the ban email a few hours later.

Stop looking at my lawn.

I love it when someone posts that their unlocked car was broken into. Once the first person chimes in with "you shouldn't leave your doors unlocked it makes our neighborhood an easy target" it's off to the races on arguments

Had a guy a few months ago that found his dog dead in his backyard. He was distraught, as is to be expected, but that wasn't the point of the post. He didn't know what to do with the dog. The overwhelming majority of commenters suggested taking the dog to the vet for an autopsy... a fricking autopsy on a dog. I get that some people might need closure for that, but not one person suggested that the guy, oh I don't know, dig a fricking hole and just put the dog in it. How some of these people make their way through day to day life is nothing short of astounding.
