I got my eye on this one Wolf. I’m sure it’s a tranny.
I’d still hit it.

We went 0-2 in pool play so we have to be ready at 7 am today and it's a solid 45 minute drive.

We just started tournament ball this year. I held off for years because I was so opposed to it as a waste of time and money. Problem became watching your kid feast through rec league teams making all star every year only to realize when we would go to the world series every year his BA goes from .600 plus to .300 because he hasn't hit pitching worth a crap all year and he threw multiple kids out stealing because they couldn't steal a base if you gave them a 40ft lead. Fact is most decent players are in tournament ball by the age of 9 and whats left is kids whose parents want them to have a summer activity and they could care less about getting better, High school baseball in Ascension Parish is extremely competitive with 75 plus kids vying for the remaining 9 spots on a 18 man roster. If your kid has real aspirations of making his high school baseball team he has to face better players than himself. he has to be challenged. You will either realize he's not cut out for it or he will get better and play with kids who really care about being there. Either way you either go back to rec and just let him have fun and hang out or you give him his best opportunity for success is why I finally gave in.

Accurate. My son was never passionate about baseball and I wasn’t going to force him to be. He liked it okay and had fun with the rec team group of boys he played with for several years. They only played 16 games or so and at most 2 a week unless they had a makeup game due to rain. He played from 6-13 or about 7 seasons.
I could tell pretty early that it was just an activity to him and not a passion. I introduced him to shotgun when he was 12 and immediately saw that had a natural ability. He joined a youth team that ranges in age from 12-18. He just turned 14 and still the youngest on the team out of 15 shooters but is one of the teams top 3. Two seniors in HS shoot better. He now competes in sporting clays, super sporting clays, skeet, and trap. It’s kind of like travel ball as we drive up to 3-5 hours on some weekends for shoots. Probably not as frequently though. The overnight trips due to distance are only about one a month from March to July. Actually going to Palmetto Shooting Club in SC next weekend for a border skirmish competition between Ga and SC teams.
He is exceptional at shooting for his age and experience and I am glad I stumbled on something that he became passionate about. It was really just a need to see if there was any activity out there that he would be passionate about to keep him off of video games. It wasn’t happening with baseball even though he probably could have been above average if he would have loved to drill and work at it on his own. I don’t mind the sacrifice and expense for practice a few days a week and to get him to his competitions because I know he wants to compete and constantly improve. I wouldn’t be doing any of that if he wasn’t serious about his craft. I know to many travel ball parents whose kids are obviously not really into the game as much as the opportunity to be in a club and hang out with their baseball friends. The parents like it for the same reason. And I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. Their money and time should be spent doing what they enjoy. They could be doing a lot worse things than spending time with their kids and making memories regardless of the reason. I, personally, just don’t have the inclination to invest the time and money in clubs unless it is something that he really loves to do.

I have 4 kids. 1 is passionate about baseball and football and his dream is to play high school baseball and wants to play under the lights on Friday nights. The other boy just wants to play video games. Drives me insane. we tried everything but as he got older I felt he was a drag on the team and coaches. I immediately pulled him. Still trying to find anything he is passionate about not involving gaming.

I have two boys, me and the cool one are driving to BTR right now to watch the baseball player play. God I hope we start on time. If he loses first one we are going to Top Golf. Me and the 8 yo may have prayed for a close loss....not saying we did.

Day 2 of Travel Ball. Chads and Ronnie’s everywhere.
Some hot little MILF with a nice arse just sat by me. I don’t see her husband. I’m going to try and tap that. “Hello ma’am. My name is Jody. How are you?”

My 4 yr old daughter hates everything but beauty pageants and Gymnastics.
Her mom messed up and put her in one last year and she won. Now her room is nothing but crowns, sashes, and 6ft trophies.
We jumped up a level and bought her a legit pageant dress this weekend. Holy sheet. Daddy bout crapped himself when he paid that bill. I’m in the wrong business.
She eats that stuff up though and wants to win them all and dang near does. We let her decide when she wants to be in one and she normally just walks in and says it’s time to go win another crown.
I’m refuse to kill off that winning desire but dang it’s expensive.
I’ll never give a travel ball parent grief after going through this.
