I told my family to clap, but not to open their damned mouths when my name was called. When it got to me, there was whooping and hollering for the girl next to me, then silence for me, then the whooping and hollering started back up for the guy after me.
In hindsight, maybe my family just doesn't love me. Hell, for all I know, they went out for lunch without me during the ceremony.

What I usually see is people behave during the A's. Then a few people break the rules during the B's, and by the end everyone is getting applause.

Imagine the confusion if you graduated from Hammond High and then graduated from SLU. You’d have two diplomas that said “Hammond High.”
