I find it both odd and unsettling that the kids involved in this freakshow relationship will be among the 28% of black children that grow up in a two parent household.

The repeated misuse of "too" bothers me more than it should.

Trashiest I've seen was a girl trying to raise money to go to rehab in California.
The kicker is that her insurance would actually cover any rehab facility in her home state (Alabama) for up to a year. Several others around the country in places like Indianapolis, Detroit, a couple in Mississsipoi, Florida, and Georgia. Oh, and she had already been through rehab FIVE times.
The one she was asking money for is the 5* type that's right on the beach and apparently is well known for all the celebrities that go there. But, according to her, she did research and "just knew" in her "heart of hearts" that this was the "right" place for her. The one that would "finally take". She refused to go to any of the rehab facilities in Alabama covered by her insurance because said she needed to get out of her element (ignoring the other out of state facilities that were covered, which her sister pointed out to everybody).
Essentially she wanted $25,000 for an all expenses paid 3 month beach vacation in Southern California and a chance to become buddies with some celebrities.

This isn't as trashy as yours, but I was looking through the gofundme accounts & came across this one.
The story:
LINK
This is the type of shite that pisses me off. It starts off by saying this family has "literally been to hell and back" because... Their daughter was "yanked from their house by the police and sent to jail unjustly".
The parents spent all of their money on legal fees and as a result had vehicle taken away and could possibly lose house.
Since they needed a car they used some "fresh start program" (sounds like something for people who went bankrupt) and they didn't get the type of loan they thought they were getting and the notes were too high. They did a voluntary repo and evidently the car wasn't picked up until 5 months later and it was auctioned off for $3000 which wasn't enough to cover what they owed so the loan company sued them and now they owe $9k.
The goal is $10k and they have received over $8k.
Am I missing something? First of all, if that is all that happened to them then they were not "literally in hell". There are families who deal with a lot worse.. Including children who are extremely sick or even the death of a child so to say they have "literally been through hell" is disrespectful at the least.
The story:
quote:
Paul and Cheryl have literally been to hell and back the past 8 years. Their youngest daughter Melissa, was literally yanked from their home and unjustly sent to prison for a crime she didn't commit. (Watch 48 hours, Blaming Melissa Here is the link for Blaming Melissa LINK Though evidence was found which proved her innocence, Melissa still sadly sits in prison, far away from her family. You can imagine the stress and legal fees this family has had to endure. Then, to top it all off, their car was taken away and now their home is at risk.
Paul and Cheryl in the beginning of last year needed a car. So they went to Liberty Auto Plaza in Libertyville. They were supposed to get a Hyundai Elantra but when they got to the dealer they were told it was gone and proceeded to show them a Nissan Versa Note no extras, no power windows etc. They were also told they qualified for the Presidents Fresh Start Program and that no one else would help them to finance it. So Paul and Cheryl believed them and proceeded to get the car.
Well, Liberty Auto financed them through a company called Prestige Financial. They were told Prestige was with the fresh start program and it turns out they weren't.
They tried to keep up on the payments because they needed a car, and unfortunately the payments were too high and they told that to Prestige last year in Nov. So Paul and Cheryl decided to do what they call a voluntary repo. Well, they didn't come and take the car until this last April so the car just sat in Paul's driveway for 5 months.
.....Needless to say, Prestige decided to take Paul and Cheryl to court for the balance of the car since at auction they supposedly only got 3,000. They sued Paul and Cheryl for the remainder which was 9000.00! They lost in court and now Prestige is planning on garnishing most of Cheryl's wages in 30 days. Since the judge in LAKE COUNTY approved it, that means they won't have any money for other bills and they will probably lose their house!
With all that they are going through with Melissa and now to be hit with this has Paul and Cheryl very scared and worried. Like I said we are not the type of people who ask for help but this is one time where they have nowhere else to turn!

I may be wrong, but I believe there is a limit on the pct of income that can be garnished.
