no. the vast majority of transmission problems are caused by bad motor mounts and transmission mounts. they never change those when they rebuild the transmissions so you're 75% likely to wind up with same problem 20k miles down the road. Acuras have had the same transmission problems for 30 years bc the freaking pos company won't upgrade the mounts. that's no accident. several companies use those same products but I can't remember off the top of my head."

Tranny problems?

Seriously, I am around a bunch of vehicles in my work life and have had up to five cars personally at one time and I haven’t even sniffed a transmission problem in decades.

Zero CVTs over that time, that might contribute positively to my good fortune.

I've never heard that. I'm pretty sure internal clutch pad wear is the number one cause of premature failures.

Every transmission I've rebuilt (4)
Has had bad clutches or if you're lucky solenoid failure

If my wife came home from a repair shop and they fixed transmission and also replaced motor mounts as “cause of transmission problems”…. I would have been down at that shop almost immediately. Would definitely be game on.

Torque converter went out at 85k miles.
Replaced with a rebuilt one and lasted to 260k when the plastic gear on the governor gear wore away.

Sierra and silverado have major issues with them pump inside of them. GM in general has had many problem with pumps through out the years. Many parts made out of Aluminum.
Any metal discharged from these will wreck the rest of the transmission.
Not in the business any longer but have several co workers that run into this issue. They had rebuilds done with upgraded parts and have had no issues as far as I know.
A good kit and any upgrade parts would be recommended. The computer controls, solenoids and valve body are really important in newer vehicles.
