Transgender Wrestler

A 17-year-old Euless Trinity High School transgender wrestler who is transitioning from female to male won a girls regional championship in Allen over the weekend after a female opponent forfeited the match.

Mack Beggs, a junior who is undefeated this season.

Yeah, it doesn't matter if it looks like a dude or even if it had its sock flipped out, it's still a female.

So she's born a girl and she's wrestling girls? What's the issue?

I'm guessing you're being facetious and trying to get bites, but it's pretty clear that thing is taking hormones for its transition, giving a clear competitive advantage.

frick no. "He's" taking a litany of steroids to assist in the transition. It is complete horse shite. If Mack wants to be a man, he should wrestle men.

ETA: Seems like the UIL could be to blame:

quote:

Beggs identifies as male but must compete against girls because of two UIL rules, one requiring student-athletes to compete as the gender listed on their birth certificate and the other prohibiting boys from wrestling girls.

Nancy Beggs said Mack Beggs wants to compete against boys but will follow UIL rules.

The Texas Education Code and UIL rules prevent steroid use, but the code allows their use if “dispensed, prescribed, delivered and administered by a medical practitioner for a valid medical purpose.”

I don't fault either family in this. Stupid rules are stupid.

I'd assume she's undergoing hormone treatments to aide in her "transitioning." Jesus H Christ, this is ridiculous. If a male wrestler tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone, he'd be suspended. He-she should have to compete with the boys if he-she identifies as one and is actively medicating herself to be more boylike.
