Why do they address him as a she? I don’t get it.

First, he's a male playing dress up to beat real women.

Second, his testosterone levels are only the beginning of his advantages. Men's bone density, muscle mass, and reaction time are also a huge advantage in sports.

Tends to happen when someone is so fricked up in the head that they want to chop their dick off.

I can’t speak for this person, but I’m on 200mg/day of Spironactalone, which is an anti-androgyn and suppresses T. My testosterone levels are actually below that of a genetic woman my age. In the last 18 months, I’ve lost an insane amount of muscle. But I’m also no longer an athlete either and retired from the Army. Just my .02 of anecdotal experience.

Is this something you're proud of? What's your point?

I’m transgender, that’s why, and can speak to some of these things

As a transgender, how do you feel about some of these people competing in sex-specific sports? Seems like it's the only issue left that people get upset about.

Torn. Probably the best way to describe it. I don’t fall in line lockstep with my peers. I go back and forth often. I can only speak from experience in that I experienced a massive decrease in strength and stamina when I started hormone replacement therapy.

Good thing you are out of the army, you obviously shouldn't be making decisions that involve guns.

Seems like a tricky spot, and even the few transgenders I've spoken to about it don't seem to agree 100%. Some of them resent these athletes for giving ammo to those who oppose trans rights. And some feel like they should have the same opportunities as everyone else. I'm not sure what the answer is, but it's probably not this.

It very much is and like you said, I don’t want that opportunity taken away from my peers.

Appreciate the thoughtful response.

I was actually on JBLM’s Range 15 this weekend, putting rounds through my .303 SMLE. But thanks for the concern.

Upset? I'm not sure that's a very fitting descriptor of the trans debacle. One issue is attempting to get to something akin to a protected class based on subjective personal identity. Hazy science and apparently willy-nilly standards for classifying a condition as a mental illness. More generally attempts to have society at large sacrifice their own rights for the sake of a meniscule % of society (again which % is still at root a personal identity). Then there's the issue of ignoring chromosomes in favor of nebulous factors, from supposed biochemical processes to social and political "trends." And the related child abuse resulting from parents indoctrinating their minor kids just because a big play dress up like a girl or a girl plays with army men.

And other stuff....

If I could offer my own .02....

I feel like it would be an opportunity lost and that's unfortunate, but it's necessary due to the nature of the competition. People miss out on opportunities due to circumstances outside of their control all the time, and while it's not ideal, it is part of life. My friend couldn't join the military because he was diabetic. Some people can't give blood because of physical conditions. If transgender is going to be accepted as a real condition by society, then maybe we need to accept it as a condition that is accompanied by some unfortunate limitations.

Just my thoughts on it. God bless.
