Gender reassignment surgery started in the 1950s (Thanks Denmark). Inspired by this, in 1953 B-movie director Ed Wood famously wrote, directed and starred in "Glen or Glenda." Wood himself claimed he was wearing women's underwear when he stormed the beaches at Tarawa as a U.S. Marine.

But, transexualism was mainstreamed by the media establishment, really, beginning with Andy Worhol's superstars and the circle around them in the late 60s and early 70s.

And, I'm not hating on transgender folks, but at the same time I think we should be treating mental illness, not endorsing bizarre delusions. We wouldn't do that with schizophrenics and those with psychoses. I don't know why we do it for these folks, other than for some bizarre political goal by the far left.

I'm pretty sure I'll see, before I die, some hate-crime law passed targeting people who don't want to date the gender confused.

Addiction is an illness apparently.
But if you're addicted to alcohol (or an alcoholic), instead of meetings, why don't they just send me cases of beer?

Soon there will be laws passed that require all heterosexual men to sexually pleasure trans-he/shes whenever they request it.

hendersonshands is actually working on the bill right now.

I recently met someone like this at my HS reunion. Wasn't the most surprising of things looking back on my HS days though, since was always hanging out with women and not any guys.

So I don't understand the Trans thing. The chick in that picture is attractive. I get how guys would like her - but then she says she was born a boy.

Does that means that she has a weird surgically created vagina that wouldn't get wet during intercourse? She obviously can't have kids.

Why the frick would she be surprised at their reactions? Am I missing something?

Y'all seem to be really, really obsessed with the LGBT folks. Why do you care so much?

I'm not obsessed - I just don't understand basic things about it.

Does that relatively hot chick in the linked story have a penis still? Was it cut off and turned into a "vagina"? Am I supposed to know this? Is it wrong to ask this?

These are things I honestly don't know.

Because my 4 year old has been exposed to it as being natural and encouraged to accept these people. I didn't know what a drag queen was until I was 15 years old.

That's the issue that we're all running into. I'm not going to hate on anyone for the personal choices they make, even if I don't agree with them at all. But that's never enough. Not only am I supposed to support their lifestyle choices, if I don't enable it, I'm close minded and a bigot.

Probably but now it's celebrated.

It all got started on MASH.

Fuccking Klinger dressing up as a woman so that he could get a section 8 discharge. The fact that the Army did not discharge him basically said that being a transgender was completely normal.

Probably because the LGBT folks are obsessed with policing thought, speech and policy. And yet if you don't support their crap, you are labeled a racist, bigot, homophobe etc.. Yet if you label them, you in turn get labeled.

In this case, she still has a penis.

Mental illness is a strong term although this could certainly fall within it. With the society we live in, I think counseling should be encouraged but doesn't necessarily need to result in an 'outcome' (i.e. person can decide to be straight or transgender after further consideration).

Of course, straight guys won't be interested in transgenders (whether they've had surgery or not). I'm not fully aware of who they think will be interested in them but they should expect to have a much smaller pool of the population. That's just the way it is.
