Check the owners manual. It should be spelled out in print the amount of weight it can tow.

Dually. Go read your owners manual or the data plate on the truck.
The 2500 may pull it but you're gonna have a shitty time.

I'd also consider towing with a goose neck if that's an option

Should be fine

ETA. Just unhook the 300lb truck nuts to counter the extra weight.

Brakes working well? Should be fine. Capacities are on your door jamb

You should be able to pull it, stopping it may be a totally different story

If you add trailer capabilities, you can tow up to 16000 lbs., but the Silverado 2500HD usually has standard towing capacity of up to 12000.

GVWR inside door jamb and on trailer tag. Add together and see the inside of the door jamb for max with trailer.

As suggested, a gooseneck is far better than a bumper pull because you can twist the neck on a bumper pull if you go too fast or turn too hard.

Unless your truck is a dually, you'll exceed the manufacturer's maximum allowance for towing capacity for the entire vehicle combo.

Folks do that every day and get away with it.

Cops very rarely stop people for exceeding the towing capacity unless it's an egregious case (a Tacoma towing a four axle 30k boat trailer).

If you get in a wreck, even if it's not your fault, it could hypothetically come back to haunt you.

I wouldn't do it personally because the risk:reward doesn't work for me.

If you do it, you have to plan your braking well ahead of time. Good luck.

Tow it once, yes.

Tow it regularly, no.
