I know we have beaten the red light tickets to death on the OT and we all know you don't have to pay them.

What about the camera speed traps? I passed on in Baker Saturday on the way to a jamboree and they got me. Are these enforceable? Or, are they like the red light tickets and can be thrown away?

Did it come from a 3rd party agency?
If so, I’d shred it.

I thought they couldn't do anything about those because no one was issuing you a promissory document to appear in court

Is that the learned consensus of the OT? I got one a few weeks back.

Never pay unless you just like paying additional taxes.

Unless you are served certified papers, don’t pay

I got one in Orleans parish on Carrollton, don’t plan on paying for it or parking on surface streets down there.

I’m not sure what the ruling is in Louisiana but they have actually been ruled unconstitutional in Tennessee because you do not have a chance to face your accuser in court. Small towns still send out the tickets but the only people who pay for tourists.

You cannot legally owe any company any money that you did not sign a promise to repay (loan app, credit card app, etc...)

Toss it in the garbage. They are all just threats. They dont have your Social and they cant sue you

I got one at the corner of N. Carrollton and Canal for "Disregarding a red light" when the video clearly shows me stopping and waiting for two cars to pass before i went. And no, there was not a "no turn on red" so it was legal. DO i not pay, or is it worth going to fight? TIA

ETA: It came from some ticket office in Cincinnati...

I got a red light ticket in BR last year. I got three notices.... Then silence. I know there is nothing they can do in BR.

I got a ticket at the same place for the same infraction. I stopped for a few seconds, then made the turn. The ticket went directly into the trash. I got another on Harrison Ave by the park. That one also went in the trash.

After I got my third warning on both of the tickets, I went to an auto notary and got a new license plate. No boot for me.
