I don't know how they have made it this long.

I'm surprised Playville in Covington has made it as long as they have too. They have been around forever it seems. I guess they sell a different quality of toys?

Playville closed a few weeks ago. They only were open because of educational supples and the fact the owners were very shrewd.

They do price match. Scored tons of Lego sets for my son for Christmas.

Toys R Us, like Sears, like Winn Dixie, like Circuit City, etc, all have the same two problems.

1) They were part of a leveraged buyout

2) They charge higher than WalMart prices, but offer WalMart level of service.

I, like others, will pay a bit more to not have to deal with WalMart. But if going to Toys R Us, service and experience-wise, is no different than going to WalMart, then why would I pay the higher price? And if going to the R Us just means they will be out of stock, then I might as well order it online, when I will get it in the same amount of time it takes to come in stock, at a cheaper price.

Best Buy was on this list too, but they have managed to turn it around, by providing a nice store experience, and a very strong buy online, pick up at store experience.

The leveraged buyout aspect just makes it worse. A lot of these companies in trouble all did leveraged buyouts right before the economy crashed. And they have never recovered.

Make one mistake or the other, and you might be able to survive. Make two, and you are done.

Toys R Us has become thw showroom for Amazon's toys page.

Go to Toys R Us to find out what your kids like and then go home & order from Amazon.

Same as Best Buy. Find the product you want at Best Buy, go home and buy it for 20% less at Newegg or Tigerdirect

When I was a kid growing up, my mom would take us to United Jewelers in downtown Shreveport. We'd go to the Toy Floor and could send hours there.

IDK, went to one around Christmas for the first time in forever. The whole experience was pretty depressing. Not as bad as walking into a K-mart in 2017 bad, but still bad.
