Now go tour Bon Marche.

It's a business park now. I used to work in there and walked through it all of the time.

Everyone goes to Best Buy to look at an item you want to buy off amazon before you buy it.

That definitely used to be the case, but since they started doing price matches to online retailers it's probably not as bad.

Weird how if you go back to the early 20th century, people would go downtown for entertainment and have groceries (eggs, milk, etc.) and gifts delivered to our house. Places like Cortana didn’t exist yet.

Then we went to shopping malls and completely abandoned downtown for about 40 years. Places like Cortana thrived.

Now we go downtown for entertainment and have our groceries and gifts delivered to our houses again. Places like Cortana get bulldozed.

Orange Julius, mama brava, Spencer’s, cd warehouse, space port and many others were staples on my youth growing up in BR. Seems like we went to the mall every weekend. Continued through middle, and high school. Sad day, but at least it’s turning into something relevant.

Wish I could say the same about Richland Mall in Forest Acres where I live in Cola. Pretty much dead and they don't seem to be motivated to do anything with it.

It's been turned into a business park - so expect a lot of cubicles. I think they did that 15-20 years ago.

EATEL, Cox, and an incubator with a few small tech companies are in there along with the Baton Rouge theater.

Every dime I made working in cortana mall was spent in cortana mall. I still have a leather jacket from merry-go-round I bought in 85 that's in great condition.

It was a great place to hang out and meet people.

I fingerblasted a girl on a bench in there right across from Gymboree. My fondest memory of the place. I was 32 and she was 45.

The manager of Journey’s, Glen, was a great guy. He was always there and was so enthusiastic.
