Nah, it’s about private property rights. But hey man screw that so your clothes don’t stink.

I am phasing it out of my life now that I have kids. I don’t smoke around or in front of them. They are 2 and 10 months.

After I put them to bed, I’ll have some beer and couple cigs on the back porch. Went from a pack a day prior to kids to gradually getting down to a few after the kids are asleep.

It’s officially about to be phased out for good soon.

It’s nasty but just goes with drinking to me. I started in college just because I guess. Glad to know it’s a vice that will end soon

if you're going to smoke at least put your cigarette butts out before you throw them out that shouldn't be that hard to comprehend

So you never smoked a cigarette because of the smell, but the smell of marijuana was pleasant enough for you to smoke

Marijuana doesn't smell as bad.. Well, at least it's not AS strong as a cigarette (generally) but that is not the only reason I never smoked a cigarette.

Like I mentioned, my dad smoked and I never liked the smell, but he had health problems and him smoking didn't help. And it's not something a person just wakes up and decides "I am going to stop smoking today". I was well aware of how addicting tobacco was and I never saw the benefit of smoking.

As a teenager, I was around people who smoked for the first time, but I never felt like I had to do it to be "cool".

If you google "how many fires are caused by cigarettes" you can download a document that has statistics, but the google result says that close to 1000 deaths and 3000 injuries a year are caused by fires caused by cigarettes.

This shite is how the IHOP at Siegen burned down.

That's how the Burger King in Central caught fire the day of the official reopening from renovations.

It's also about public health. If we'd have left it up to people like you, it'd still be legal to smoke in restaurants, hospitals and grocery stores. Thank God the majority of us who aren't stupid enough to smoke have won out in the end. I hope they find your smoker friend who started the fire at BJ's through his/her carelessness, and hold him/her accountable.

If by “people like you” you mean people who believe private citizens should be able to do what they please with their own property, then maybe, maybe not.

It’s okay buddy, I’m glad children like yourself have a babysitter to watch over them so they don’t accidentally walk into a place that might have cigarett smoke.

I wonder how many wildfires can be contributed to cigs.

Maybe 1%.

Sounds like BJs uses shitty construction materials if a cigarette can burn the fricking place down from the patio.

It would figure that you have no intelligent response, here. Whether you like it or not, public health IS an important issue that most people care about.

No problem buddy. You've just proven my original assertion about smokers being self-centered assholes who think their rights supercede those of non-smokers. Have fun smoking your way to lung cancer and emphysema and improving the gene pool of the human population with you all's early exit. Personally I hope you smoke about five packs of cigs a day.

Cool, let me know when there’s a thread on public health. I’ll be happy to discuss it.

Apparently you can’t read. I never mentioned a word about “smoker’s rights” as evidenced by this

which you conveniently glossed over.

Not sure you know how the gene pool works.

I was in a restaurant in Northern Mississippi in a Memphis suburb a few months ago and got the "smoking or non?" question. The smoking section was right next to the non smoking so it's not like it mattered much

Can't remember the last time I was asked this. Might have to bum a couple and sit in the smoking section for old times sake.

It's the first time that I can remember hearing it since the late 90s maybe.

Having a smoke at the table with your aperitifs after a good meal is one of life’s little pleasures. It’s a shame the vaginas ruined it for the rest of us.

There is nothing trashier than a line of smokers huddled outside their office under an overhang trying to suck down a cig during their tenth cig break of the day.

The worst thing I've ever seen has to be the smoking room at Hartsfeld. Do they still have that? It's been a few years.
