Tort lawyers of the OT

My nephew was injured in motorcycle accident where a driver did not see him at an intersection and ran directly into him. My nephew had right away. The truck driver was at fault, and there is a video of the incident. My nephew sustained a broken arm, serious concussion and significant road rash. My brother will have to come out of pocket $5,000 to $7,500 in medical bills. Junior will miss school and may be unable to complete semester, which is expensive at U if I Champaign. He is also out $15,000 motorcycle, which should be replaced by other driver’s insurance.
My questions are, if my brother sues the guy who ran into junior can he expect to be made 100% whole, what would the time line look like and how much can he expect to pay competent counsel?

Does he have med pay under his policy? Use that and seek reimbursement in his lawsuit. Alternatively, if he hires an attorney, that attorney might pay front his treatment costs.
If fault is that clear, then he will be compensated for his motorcycle.
You don't pay PI attorneys. They front most everything and recoup their costs and contingency fee on resolution or after trial.
Here in Louisiana, litigation is not quick. Not sure about IL.

If ins co offers to make whole, plus a little extra, no reason to feed the horrible litigation culture we have. Don't call a lawyer unless you feel you are getting fricked.

Hire a lawyer.
They will work on a contingency fee, meaning you won't pay anything out of pocket, but they will take 33.333-40% of the BI award. Probably won't charge anything for Property Damage.

Why would he be suing? Is the driver who was at fault and his insurance company refusing to pay for medical and/or damages to motorcycle?
